XR Games
š¹ Palworld the (almost) PokĆ©mon clone, just hit 8 million games sold on Steam. And this is how it looks in VR.
š And since I just mentioned earlier you can vacuum around your real house in Mixed Reality, you can start training (sort of) in VR with Lawn Mowing Simulator. Itās coming on the Meta Quest (2, 3, Pro) on March 21st.
š« If you wanted extraction shooters on your Quest and, in particular, you wanted Ghosts of Tabor, youāre in luck. Itās coming to the oficial Quest Store on February 8th (after only being available on AppLab). It already reached $10 million in revenues, so it looks like itās here to stay.
āļø I love roguelikes. I sometimes hate them (OK, most of the time), because they are quite difficult. But Crumbling, a VR roguelike game, seems to be targeted to the rookie roguelike player, so Iāll take it. Hereās an extended review.
šļø Mixed Reality is still in its infancy when it comes to games. Demeter: The Asklepios Chronicles was released yesterday (Jan 25th) on the Quest Store, but is it a truly different Mixed Reality experience. And you might hit your dog by mistake. Hereās a full review.
š¢ If you ever wanted to see the Titanic in VR, youāre in luck! Titanic: A Space Between takes you to the famed ship on a horror adventure for the Meta Quest 3. Itās launching on the 14th of February and hereās the trailer:
XR News
š¤Æ Meta Quest outsold PSVR 2 during the holidays. For every PSVR 2 sold, people bought 30 Meta Quests!!!
š And talking about selling well, I wanted to preorder my Vision Pro yesterday. And Appleā Vision Pro is sold out! I can only get mine in 5-6 weeks or so, at the earliest. So, is spatial computing the future?
š¦ Quite so, since around 180,000 devices were pre-sold, apparently. I just wonder where weāre gonna put these HUGE boxes they come in.
š Still, Netflix decided not to bring a native app to Vision Pro and hereās the co-CEO explaining why.
š„ Even Meta is working on a solution to bring Spatial Video to Quest.
š» Meta is also getting close to bringing their photorealistic āCodec Avatarsā to Questā¦ maybe?
š„½ And you can get a Vision Pro competitor headset, the 4K Visor from Immersed, for just $400 if you get a subscription.
Until next time, enjoy your other reality gaming!

The Guinness World Record for the longest VR marathon is held by Australian gamer Jack McNee. He set this record in 2017.
McNee played for 36 hours straight, playing mostly āTilt Brushā. It was a strategic decision, since "Tilt Brush" is not as physically demanding as some other VR games.
For such records, Guinness World Records has specific guidelines. These typically include stipulations like a 10-minute break for every hour played, which can be accumulated. This ensures that record attempts are made under safe conditions.
