XR (Good) News

💰 Good news! People bought a lot of Quests this Christmas, because the Quest app was the most downloaded on iPhone on Christmas day.

🦍 Gorilla Tag, the most popular game on Quest right now saw a 2.5 times increase in concurrent people playing it after Christmas.

✈️ Brink Traveler saw a 4x increase in users since Quest 3 launched, with a HUGE spike on Christmas.

🤯 There might be more than half a million Quest 3 sold.

Until next time, enjoy your other reality gaming!

Released in 2016, Pokémon GO became one of the most successful AR games ever, causing a significant cultural impact. It used GPS to allow players to capture virtual Pokémon that appeared in real-world locations.

It achieved massive success upon release, becoming one of the fastest apps to reach 100 million downloads and earning over $500 million in revenue in just two months.

The game was praised for promoting physical activity, as it requires players to walk to find and catch Pokémon. A study suggested that players of "Pokémon GO" walked collectively more than 8.7 billion kilometers in 2016.
